The Benefits of Mediator Mind

Isn’t it fascinating how, as we grow older and wiser, certain ‘truisms’ repeatedly appear in our lives. As I’ve broadened in my professional life from being a lawyer to working as a life coach and mediator, I’ve found this particularly to be the case. I now see clearly how there are certain underlying principles that govern both my professional and personal life. I like to refer to this as Mediator Mind.

50+ and Pursuing ‘Work with Meaning’

There’s no better time than right now to figure out what’s important to you in terms of your work. And when I say ‘work’ I’m using the word in its broadest sense, whether it’s paid or unpaid/volunteer work.
Why do I say this? It’s true that we’re mostly hearing only bad news about the job market and the shrinking economy. However, I also see a positive aspect to all of this negative input.

Tips for Navigating the New Job Landscape

The economic crisis has hit everyone—young and old, skilled and unskilled. In fact, the whole economic landscape has changed dramatically in just a matter of months. Most workers in their 20s, 30s and 40s have the advantage of more working years ahead of them—years in which to make-up for this downturn. Unfortunately, for older workers like us, women in our 50s and beyond, our concerns are even more pressing.
